Gateway Church

Gateway Church is a non-denominational multisite megachurch headquartered in Southlake, Texas, founded by Robert Morris in 2000. The church grew into one of the largest in America, with about ten campuses across Texas and beyond, and built a widely sung worship catalog through Gateway Worship. Morris resigned in June 2024 after decades-old abuse allegations became public, and in August 2025 the church installed Daniel Floyd, founder of Lifepoint Church in Virginia, as its new lead pastor.

Gateway reaches 2.21 million followers, and worship music carries the load. The combined YouTube audience is 1.78 million subscribers, with Gateway Worship at 1.26 million more than doubling the church channel's 520,000. YouTube subscribers grew 17.76 percent over the past year. Instagram adds 212,401 followers on the verified gatewaypeople account, and Facebook contributes 222,102. There is no TikTok presence in our data. The worship catalog functions as the church's primary front door online, pulling in listeners who may never have heard a Gateway sermon.

The number that matters here is the growth rate through the storm. Gateway's YouTube audience grew nearly 18 percent during a stretch that included a founder's resignation, a public scandal, and a yearlong pastoral search, earning a velocity score of 70.6. Worship catalogs are durable in a way personality-driven channels are not, and Gateway Worship kept compounding while the institution rebuilt. With Daniel Floyd now installed and the leadership question settled, Gateway enters 2026 as a test case for whether a legacy digital audience can survive a brand crisis. So far, the data says yes.
